The official documentation (.gov.uk) is now contradictory and seems to mix up traineeship work placements, intended for 16 to 19 year old high school students, and internship work placements, intended for graduate and post graduate students, as well as insurances required by foreign workers, that include internships, and short stay traineeships which instead are covered by the hosting company employer’s liability insurance.

We suggest looking amongst our charities to avoid the issue.
