Getting around Nottingham
First of all, use the link you received with the Google Maps® route to see directions to get to work, and to find out which bus company to use.

These are the possible cases:
1) You can walk to work
As you may want to go to the town centre after work or at the weekend, please read below to know how to choose and use the local bus services.

2) The bus company is Nottingham City Transport (NCT)
We recommend using the company’s smartphone app to purchase tickets. We suggest the “Under 19 24 Hour Cityrider x 5” ticket, and single tickets if you need more.

Purchase your first ticket(s) online, even in Italy, long before departure.

Prove that you are under 19 to get special rates (you will be asked to upload a document).

Activate your ticket to get on the bus (you need a connection, and all buses have Wi-Fi). Once it is activated, before or while getting on the bus, a dynamic keyword will appear on the screen; it is shown to the driver every time you get on.

Tip: if you activate your ticket on the 8.06 am bus on Monday and catch the 8.00 am bus to go to work on Tuesday, you won’t need to activate the next 24-hour ticket until your next ride, probably at 5.00 pm or so. The same goes for the evening: if you delay a little, you may catch the earlier bus to avoid using another 24-hour ticket. Check the counter:

The bus service is great, with clear indications, free Wi-Fi and USB.

3) The bus company is Trentbarton
Please check that the route is not covered by NCT, which is cheaper and has greater coverage of the city centre than Trentbarton. Otherwise, if your stay is more than two weeks long, we recommend buying a Mango Card; if not, take single tickets using a contactless card. You must prove that you are under 18 to get the discounted rate: remember to make a photocopy, so you can leave your original passport at home in your luggage, ready for your return.
4) The bus company is another one
Please check that one of the first two is not available (it may take a few more minutes of travel), as we still recommend them. Better still, go on foot if you can. Our order of preference is NCT first, Trentbarton second and, if these are not available, whatever Google Maps recommends (train, tram or another company).
