About Happy home near Sherwood, Arnold & Nottingham City Centre
We are a warm and friendly family-oriented household. We have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. We have three rooms available for hosting and summer is especially busy with lots of trips and activities. We host students from China, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Austria, France and Germany. We enjoy the countryside, family get-togethers, quizzes and good food. Contrary to popular belief I am said to be a great cook, often creating dishes with an international flavour. I also make jam and chutney and I am an artist.
I am Michelle, I work from home looking after students from around the world. I also paint, pyrograph and draw. My husband, Matt, works full-time for a disaster recovery and cleaning company. We love Nottingham and enjoy showing people around the city and countryside. We live close to the southern tip of Sherwood Forest, Matt walks the dogs there in the evening. We are happy to provide cultural visits, take guests on days/evenings out, where possible we have a party to say goodbye to our long stay guests but where admission fees are applicable guests will be expected to cover their own costs. "A lovely and welcoming family. The house was very clean and comfortable, and they were always kind, helpful and available. They also took us to visit Wollaton Hall, which was a really nice experience. They talked to us a lot and always encouraged us to speak English, which really helped us practise and improve. We felt very welcome and had a great stay."

"Poco ospitali, zero esperienze con la host, le ore di lezione pagate anticipatamente non sono state completate e non sono state eseguite col metodo previsto , colazioni non pervenute, pranzi nemmeno, miseri tramezzini alla sera alle 18. Le problematiche sono state fatte presenti senza nessun tipo di riscontro. E la referente sa benissimo anche di situazioni poco corrette da parte della famiglia ai danni delle ragazze. Mi auguro ci sia maggior selezione x il futuro "

"Jolanda and I had the time of our lives at Michelle and Matt's place.
They were really welcoming and available. Michelle cooks delicious meals, even vegan.
The first day we went to see the workplace and then we visited the Gardens of Lord Byron's house (Newstead Abbey).
Other activities during our stay: climbing, ice-skating, bowling, visiting Calke Abbey in Derbyshire.
